5 Key Ingredients That Help Heal Damaged, Sore Skin

Has your skin become irritated due to sunburn, windburn, or the use of harsh products? You probably want to heal your skin as soon as possible, and using products like organic skin renewal cream. Here are five key ingredients to look for in cleansers, moisturizers, and other skin products intended for damaged or sore skin.

1. Aloe

Aloe is a great choice for anyone who prefers organic, all-natural products. It has natural anti-inflammatory properties, so it will help relieve any puffiness and soreness. Aloe also helps your skin hold in moisture, which will speed healing from something like a sunburn.

2. Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is a component that your skin produces naturally. It adds volume and moisture to your skin. Hyaluronic acid becomes depleted as you age, and also if your skin gets exposed to anything harsh. Moisturizers with hyaluronic acid can be especially helpful in healing skin that's overly dry or has been irritated by medicated washes.

3. Jojoba Oil

You can use plain jojoba oil or products that contain it to ease the pain of sunburn or windburn. This is a very gentle oil that will moisturize your skin without clogging pores or leading to pimples. If you use plain jojoba oil, make sure you choose an organic product. Apply three or four drops to your fingertips, and rub the oil into your skin after you've washed and dried your face.

4. Vitamin C

Vitamin C works throughout the body to help fight damage caused by free radicals. It can help protect healing skin from additional damage, while also brightening its appearance. A lot of moisturizers made for sensitive skin contain vitamin C. You'll see washes made with vitamin C, too, but these tend to be less effective since the vitamin C is only in contact with your skin for a few minutes before being rinsed away.

5. Vitamin E

Vitamin E is another vitamin that helps heal damaged skin. It also makes your skin stronger and more resilient so that it's better able to resist future damage. You can use a product with vitamin E in it, or you can apply a simple vitamin E serum separately before applying your moisturizer.

If your skin is sore or damaged, make sure you turn to well-made, natural products to help it heal itself. With the right care, your skin should be back to normal within a week.
